Rights & Responsibilities at 49 Oak

Rights & Responsibilities is a duo show featuring Ryer Spann '26 and Quimby Danger '26. In this show, they each are investigating two starkly different communities of people and how they access play, comfort, and tomfoolery. Spann’s work examines the hyper-masculine Maine Maritime Academy community, set in contrast to his more tender, emotional imagined worlds. Danger is looking inward, toward her close relationships with friends and her sisters; she is examining the safety found in absurdity and a close-knit small community. The two are interested in what is inherently allowed under patriarchal power and how it is enforced or rejected.

Rights & Responsibilities is open March 6-21, 2026, with an opening on Friday, March 6, from 5:00-8:00 pm.
