Chad Hart was born and raised in Waterville, Maine. Hart graduated from Bowdoin College in 2003 with a Bachelor's of Science in Studio Art, received a Post Baccalaureate in Art Education and teaching certification in the MECA&D art education program in 2010, and completed his Masters in Art Education from MECA&D in 2021. Chad Hart has been teaching in the Portland Public Schools system for 16 years, with 13 years at Talbot Community School, and will be starting in his 4th year teaching Visual Arts at Deering High School. He has been the PPS district art coordinator for 12 years. He lives in Portland's North Deering neighborhood with his wife and 2 children who attend Portland schools. Chad has been a mentor teacher for MECA&D MAT students for over 10 years. As an artist he enjoys painting, printmaking, ceramics, woodworking and metalsmithing. He also continues to enjoy taking Continuing Studies courses at MECA&D. Chad is a member of the Maine Art Education Association, and the National Art Education Association.
